2015 Beauty Favourites
What the blogging industry has taught me this past year is, a goodskincare regiment need not cost me a small fortune. I have to hold my hand up and admit I do believe that most expensive/highend skincare do pack a punch in the ingredient list; however, that being said some affordable ranges are fighting back making skincare products that actually work accessible to most people.
I shall stop rumbling and share with you some of my 2015 most recommended products.
Pixi skin treats Glow Tonic Exfoliator Toner £18 for 250 mls
This toner does not sting despite containing 5% glycolic acid, therefore safe to use everyday twice a day. I have noticed a significant reduction in breakouts plus my pores seem less visible. Overall complexion is even toned and brighter. This product has been good and has helped turn my oily skin to more of a normal /combination skin. In the interest of full disclosure I have used the three Pixi skin treats together. Mud cleanser, Glow tonic and overnight serum. love them all but my all time favourite is the glow tonic.
Lush cup o'coffee fresh exfoliating face and body mask £12.25 for 325g
This can be used on both your face and body, it doubles up as a scrub and mask. This mask leaves your skin envigorated, smooth, bright and leaving the skin with the smell of coffee.
Wow is all I have to say this mask does to your skin what coffee does to your brain first thing in the morning. I am loved up for a long time I think.
LAROCHE - POSAY Effaclar A.I Targeted Breakout Corrector £9.50 for 15mls
This product does exactly what it claims, it corrects breakouts just before they surface and after they have surfaced apply a small amount to the area of interest and no joke the blemish is gone in no time. Its a little drying but I apply a serum on top of it to keep the area moisturised.
The other little treasure from this range for me is the
Effaclar Duo+ corrective unclogging care anti imperfections £15.50 for 40mls
Best used as a day moisturiser, perfect base for makeup while it works its magic. Great for oily or combination skin, as it can be a little too matte for dry skin. But gets 5 out of 5 for keeping skin clear and out of trouble.
Lush Ultra Bland cleanser £11.95 for 100g
Only 10 ingredients in this tub, perfect for those who enjoy a good facial massage. The cream is a thick balm consistency. However, it melts as you work it in to the skin. Perfect for all skin types as long as you double cleanse, to remove oil residue if you are prone to breakouts.
This cleansing balm removes even the most stubborn of makeup; can be used on eyes too, win! win!
This is what LUSH claims
Based on an ancient Greek formula for cold cream, Ultrabland is beautifully simple and very effective. Made with almond oil, rose water, beeswax and honey, this cleanser removes all traces of dirt and makeup, without stripping away your skin’s natural defences. Smooth over the face, any dirt will cling to the cream and you can remove it with a warm damp cloth or cotton wool.
My last but not least item that I truly fell head overhills for was the
Maybelline Newyork forever strong super stay 7 days nail gel £ 4.49 in boots, this nail polish stays put for a whole week, I don't care what you tell me about Tomford, chanel, essie etc this looks just the same if not better and lasts more than 7 days without chipping.
If I add the essence gel nail polish top coat then my nail polish is not budging until I remove it £2.99 availabe at wilkinson in the uk.
Philip Kingsley Elasticizer £34.50 for 150mls John lewis or £17.50 for 75mls
This is my holy grail pre washing hair conditioner. It is expensive at £34.50 for 150 mls, which doesn't last that long, but if you have dry damaged hair and extra pounds to spend on your hair. The elastisizer comes in highly recommended. My hair is soft and bouncy well managable after a 30 minute treatment.
